    abdulkarim0041,

If there are no VMware Tools it's not possible to automatically install VMware Tools like that. The iso file with VMware tools will only be mounted inside the VM and you will need to start the VMware Tools install manually inside the VM.

    (Reference Cisco articles)

    Hi Abdulkarim0041,

I would highly recommend you to open a CISCO-TAC case as there are a number of bugs related to upgrading VMware Tools on UC applications. I found some of them mentioned below:

    P2-Bug: Call Manager: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCux90747

    Bug for UCCX: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuy81464/?rfs=iqvred

Below method might work in your case, bit I would suggest to check with Cisco and proceed with the recommended steps which will be share by them for their application.

    1. End any existing VMtools install: Right Click > Guest > End VMWare Tools install

    2. Console/SSH to device and run:  utils os secure permissive

    3. Start VMTools install: Right Click > Guest > Install/Upgrade Vmware tools

    4. Run utils vmtools refresh

    5. Server will reboot, possibly twice

    6. Console/SSH back to server and run: utils os secure enforce
