Can anyone help me with how to get credentials to log in to VMware vSphere client web? I am new to vmware, trying to get some hands-on labs done for only the purpose of learning at the moment.

After the installation of the iso image, i have a log in page that requires:

    IP/Name
    Username
    Password

I don't know how to get those.

The screenshot that you've posted show the ole vSphere Client for Windows, which was available for old vSphere versions.
For current versions you'd connect to vCenter Server and/or ESXi using a web brobser via the target's FQDN, or IP address.

The required credential are those that you defined during the installation of vCenter Server and/or ESXi.

Can you help me with documentation or link for how to "connect to vCenter Server and/or ESXi using a web brobser via the target's FQDN, or IP address?"
I need something free or really cheap for browsing and practice labs.

    Hi Rich,

The credentials you need are those you set during the lab creation process. The screenshot you shared refers to the Windows client, which has been deprecated for years and only works with older, outdated versions. Today, you should be accessing via the web browser console.

It would be helpful to know more details, such as the version you have installed, to provide more specific information.

Hi Welcome to the world of VMware.

When you installed from the ISO image, it would have asked you to set a password and ip address, did you take a note of these?

    Hi Rich,

for labbing and learning you can start with the Hands on Labs (https://labs.hol.vmware.com/HOL), they are a great resource to try many products and scenarios without having to install or license your infrastructure.
