    Hello,

    I would like to describe the problem I am encountering in restoring a Windows Server 2016 VM from a previously created recovery image.

    The recovery in question consists of some metadata directories in xml and the disk in vdhx format.

    I have tried two options:
    1 - convert the whole directory to ISO and hook it to the VM but in no way this is read by the bios/uefi.
    2- convert the vdhx disk to vmdk using qemu. The disk size is read correctly but the VM does not boot the OS.

    Can you give me some help? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    Try this:

    • Copy files on USB media.
    • Create VM and boot it by installation media (Windows).
    • Attach USB to the VM
    • Browse and restore image by using "Restore" option during installation.
