From my personal point of view the only correct answer is: It depends on the scope of use of your systems.
As far as I am aware systems like yours (and for that matter mine too) are not in HCL for version 8.0 of the ESXi product (and they may never be) and several devices have been deprecated and / or no longer usable (I suggest you consult the list). Also consider that, for what we know, the product is not yet in the "General Availability" state, so no one can say what could change at that moment (for better or for worse).
Then you also have to take into account what licenses you have, that if you find yourself with an "Essential" / "Free" kit you don't go much further than before. I say this because at the moment I use the ESXi / vCenter combination in version 8.0 in a nested test environment with "essential" licenses.
