I've tried the investigating locks on the files, and I can remove them, and start powering on the VM again, but then it hangs again. I've tried a couple reboots. Attached is the log for the VM. Can anyone help?

Try have a look at the bolg post http://addicted-to-it.blogspot.dk/2010/08/vsphere-vm-stuck-during-power-down-at.html I think it will do the trick.

Thanks. The "/sbin/services.sh restart" was key. The other resources I had looked at offered alternatives that weren't present in ESXi 4.1.

This more or less immediately fixed my problem.

    Hi dpprice,

Im new to Vmwares. So can you tell me how to open the console for the Vmserver.

My server is installed on a Windows Server 2003 64bit system.

And my VM gets stuck at 95%. It was working fine for a year. But from the past one month im facing this issue.

Any kind of help would be great.

    Thanks in advance

BTW: is the VM in an resource pool? If so try removing it from that and then power it up.
