    Posted Sep 07, 2010 01:17 AM

I just set up a brand new network with a Dell Poweredge T710 server with 4 gigabit ports on the back. It has ESXi 4.1 installed to the flash drive. It is running 4 Windows 2008 guests. They also have a 48 port Dell gigabit switch. I noticed that the guests beleive they are connected via 100 megabit. I cant find anything inside ESXi to adjust the speed of the virtual switch. I'm also affraid that any adjustment would possibly render a total network loss to me, and I would lose the ability to manage both the host and guest. Anybody with knowledge on this, please advise.

This is the workstation forum so you may not get many answers for ESXi related questions. I posted this in your other thread so maybe it will help.

If you click on the virtual switch and click properties you can adjust the settings for the NIC. You can also use putty and the command esxcfg-nics -l

to see what the NICS are connected at.

Do you have latest version of VMtools installed inside of the guest
