  • 1.  Virtual Machine and Video Card Maximum Number of Displays

    Posted Sep 23, 2009 11:21 PM

Hi All. I would like to know about the setting for "Maximum Number of Dispaly's" in the VM properties for the Video Card. I have attempted to change it to 2, but it always reverts back to 1. I thought that I could enable multiple displays on the VM this way. End goal is RDP or VNC with multiple display out put, not spanning desktop. Any help, always and greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

I too have been wondering about this feature. I've put in a support request to VMware and will let you know what they reply with.

    Hello,

Thank you for your service request. In order to use more than

one display, you will need to modify the maximum resolution in the vmx

file, by following the steps outlined in the following knowledge base

    article.

Adding video resolution modes to Windows guest operating systems: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003

Once you have implemented the steps outlined, it should work for you.

Please provide an update once you have done so. Could you please reply

to this email to follow up regarding this case?

Thank you for contacting VMware support.
