  • 1.  VI 5 client and Windows 7 desktop composition

I downloaded the new VI 5 client just hoping that it will be finally full compatible with Windows 7 "desktop composition", but unfortunately it is not and I still have to disable desktop composition to run it :smileysad:

Any idea when they will fix it?

My problem is similar to this:

    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1027836

"When running the vSphere Client on a Windows 7 machine, you experience these symptoms:
    - The performance of the vSphere Client is slow
    - Redraws are visibly noticeable, especially when maximizing the vSphere Client".

OK, now I found answer for my problem:

    http://communities.vmware.com/message/1817817#1817817

"You'll still have multiple versions installed.  When you launch the client it determines the host version and then run the appropriate client."

I haven't migrated vCenter and hosts yet, I just wanted to start it with client update, but as I read above it still runs older version.
