vCenter Upgrade 7.x to 8.x -- recommendations.

Hi Team,

 

We in the process of upgradating vCenter / vSphere to 8.x, could you please help on below aspects.

 

1. 8.x vCenter requires any license upgrades from 7.x to 8.x

2. UCS M4 / M5 / M6 blades support's to 8.x

3. vSphere Upgrade require any license's upgrade - from 7.x to 8.x.

Please provide me your thoughts and suggestions best practices.

vSphere licenses usually work for major versions, e.g. 6.x, 7.x, or 8.x. So yes, if you upgrade to a new major version you need to upgrade your license keys too.

We are running 8.x on UCs M5's since it came out, no issues noted.

That's good to hear. We're on M5s, too, and we're planning on an upgrade in a couple of months.
