vCenter evaluation license using license key

Hey guys,
I currently have a vCenter on version 6.7 soon to be upgraded to 7.0.
On the VMWare Customer Portal I only have the option to download the trial/evaluation version.
I do have a vCenter 7.0.3 latest update key already so that's not a problem for me but I wanted to know how different is the trial version and am I able to use this version to 1) upgrade my current vCenter 2)enter the license after the upgrade so it will basically have the same features of a paid version.

P.S if you have any tips regarding the upgrade other than these I would love to hear

I'm sure trial software is the same as production software. About ESXi Evaluation and Licensed Modes (vmware.com)

You just need to add the actual license key when you are ready!
