Task failed on server: Module 'CPUID' power on failed
Hi Team,
Dying to learn from you all. I am new to VMware and I was successfully able to build my first ESXi 6.5 LAB and added two VMs (CentOS and Windows 10).
I am building a LAB using my Lenovo laptop Windows 11 Pro as my host with 16GB of RAM and 4 Physical Processors running Workstation Pro 17 on it.
I've installed ESXi 6.5 on the VMware Workstation and inside I've created 2 VMs with ESXi installed on one of the ESXI space for CentOS and Windows 10. For the vCenter server, I have installed the installer.exe file directly from my download folder, but it keeps timing out at 80% stating that I have a "Task failed on server: Module 'CPUID' power on failed" issue.
I have taken advise to make sure that BIOS is enabled with VT-x and all, but it still won't help.
I have set-up DNS and gateway through my wifi connection property tab in control panel, IPv4 and can get to the esxi servers online, but just can't seem to pass this "CPUID power issue at 80% for the VCSA setup.
The vCenter is set at 10GB RAM and 300 disk space enough for the recommended 10 GB RAM and 250 disk space.
I can't get pass the step 1 of VCSA setup to get to step 2 because of this 80% failure.
Please help me reach my goal of learning with this evaluation license if have before it runs out. Thanks for your swift respond to this issue.
