  • 1.  VCenter 6 Update 1 consumes port 8006

    Hello,

I am trying to install backup software which uses 8006 port by default on my vCenter 6.0 Update 1 server.

But 8006 port is busy with python.exe and httpproxy.exe processes.

8006 port was not listed during vCenter installation, but it is busy after vCenter installation.

Does anyone know what is for this python application and how can i change the port which it use?
Can't find where i can change this port in the vCenter GUI.

    Thank you in advance!

I presume this was App Assure/Rapid Recovery from Dell/Quest?

We had the same issue recently

Easiest way around this was to choose a different port during the install and protection wizard when installing the agent

That port is used by the Virtual SAN health monitoring service, see: Additional vCenter Server TCP and UDP Ports

And, why not to try change the port of the new software instead of change the port of the already running application?
