  • 1.  Vcenter 5.5 - SSL Certificate renewal SUSE Linux Enterprise.

So this is a long shot... BUT, currently we have 2 ESX hosts that we do not know the password too. We have managed these through Vcenter version 5.5 (I know it is old.. Sorry..) Recently the self signed certificate for VCenter expired and did not renew. We have absolutely no way of getting into either of the hosts, nor the Vcenter appliance.

The VCenter server is running on Suse Linux Enterprise 11. The only thing we can do is PuTTy into the Suse Linux Server and try to update the SSL Certificates manually from the command line. HOWEVER, I can not find any documentation on how to do this through SUSE Linux, and have failed so far. Any recommendations out there? Or does anyone know how to update the SSL Certificate for Vcenter 5.5 on SUSE Linux version Enterprise 11? I have found every KB out there published by VMware and to no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!!

    Hello.
Tell me, have you found a solution to your problem?
I encountered a similar problem, the 10-year certificate has expired. At the moment I can't solve it.

Hello. I spent a lot of time looking for a solution to this problem, but I never found it. I have tried many different solutions and they all failed. As a result, it turned out to be much faster and easier for me to reinstall vCenter and reconnect my 15 esxi hosts.
