  • 1.  VC-HA witness appliance size

    Hello!

Why does in vSphere8 the VC-HA witness appliance need to have the same size as the active and passive node?
That seems a little exaggerated for a witness appliance.
Are there any changes in vsphere 9?

    Cheers

    Hi,
in vCenter HA (VC-HA), the witness node isn't just a lightweight observer it actually runs the full vCenter services stack, minus the active role. It has to keep the same state, replicate the database, and be ready to take over or validate a failover at any time. That's why its footprint is nearly identical to the active and passive nodes.

As of today, there hasn't been any change on that with vSphere 9 either same architecture, same requirements.
