Does upgrading the switches cause any network outage?

    Hi

The upgrade of a distributed switch causes the hosts and virtual machines attached to the switch to experience a brief downtime.

    Please check https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.networking.doc/GUID-330A0689-574A-4589-9462-14CA03F3F2F4.html

That link states that ... "If your current vSphere Distributed Switch version is 6.6 or later there is no interruption to network traffic while upgrading your vSphere Distributed Switch to a later version."

I've never had any disruption during a vDS upgrade.

    Cheers, Liam.

If you upgrade from 6.6.0 there should be no downtime.

Today i upgraded from 6.5.0 VDS to 7.0.3 and VMware stated there could be a outage of only some milliseconds.

I didnt notice any outage so the break was really just some milliseconds.
