  • 1.  Upgrade Exsi 5.5 to 6.5 or 6.7

    Hello Guys,

    I write because I have a question to perform the ESXI update

    I have ESXi 5.5 and I would like to make this update. I have seen the documentation and video on youtube, the offline process seems to be simple to do, but this raises some doubts for me.

    1) where can I download ISO 6.5 or 6.7

    2) my hardware will be compatible, I have a dell R320

    I hope you can help me with these questions, Thank you.

    Hey there ,

    • ESXi 5.5 or later can be directly upgraded to 6.5 or U1
    • ESXi 5.x  cannot be directly upgraded to 6.7 an intermediate upgrade to 6.0 is required.
    • ESXi 6.0 or later can be directly upgraded to 6.7

    For compatibility guide of power-edge :dell R320  it depends on the CPU family

    For instance

    CPU : E5-1400-v2 Series  is not compatible with esxi 6.5

    However:

    CPU Intel Xeon E5-2400-v2 Series is compatible

    You would need new license keys as well as the software ISOs.
