Hi i'm getting an error when trying to check compliance on my hosts in vCenter Update Manager.

    Any ideas?

I already checked the endpoint http://192.168.1.3:9084/vum/repository/hostupdate/vmw/vmw-ESXi-6.7.0-metadata.zip

I can access this file through the broweser.

    This is the esxupdate.log output:

Checking the link on a browser is not enough as the error is that ESXi cannot reach to that link.

Test the connectivity from ESXi directly .

    nc -z 192.168.1.3 9084

    Hi,

i tested the connectivity from ESXi directly and it worked:

    Connection to 192.168.1.3 9084 port [tcp/*] succeeded!

Any further ideas? Unfortunately the Update Manager still brings the errors although the network connection seems to be fine.

Was there ever a resolution to this issue?  I'm experiencing the same and there's frustrating little out there about this error.

Run the following command from the vCenter CLI. take the ssh of the vCenter and run:

    curl -v http://192.168.1.3:9084/vum/repository/hostupdate/vmw/vmw-ESXi-6.7.0-metadata.zip

and see what output you are getting.

    Hi Everyone.

I have been experiencing the same issue. When I run nc -z 192.168.6.102 9084 I connect successfully with the below output.

    Connection to 192.168.6.102 9084 port [tcp/*] succeeded!

Also when running curl -v http://192.168.6.102:9084/vum/repository/hostupdate/vmw/vmw-ESXi-6.7.0-metadata.zip the connection is successful and I get the HTTP 200 response.

I have attached a screenshot of the related captured events.

Any ideas on what next to try and resolve?

I have also checked the Forward and Reverse lookup zones are configured correctly and tested the curl command using the FQDN.

    curl -v http://VC01.r710lab.local:9084/vum/repository/hostupdate/vmw/vmw-ESXi-6.7.0-metadata.zip

I get the same HTTP 200 response.

Go to ESXi Host configuration tab and Select TCP/IP Configuration and check the Domain name and DNS Entries of ESXi host, correct it if it's incorrectly entered, if DNS Entries not entered enter it this resolved my issue.
