Hi, today i found my virtual machine stopped and this was the error in vmware console:

    VMware ESX unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0)

    Unexpected return status from

    VMKernel_SetupPhysMemMap(pagein, 625154

    pages)

This is the third time i get this error, what can I do?

    Welcome to the VMTN forums.

Could you clarify some of the environment information?

I assume you are running ESXi 4, but what sort of hardware?

Knowing information like the configuration of the guest, attaching the vmx file would be helpful.

What troubleshooting steps have you taken?

Do you have other VMs running on this host that exhibit any issues? Have you tested/troubleshot the Host memory to ensure you aren't dealing with any Physical Memory issues?

Getting the vmkernel log could also assist everyone in troubleshooting.

    Thank you.

Hi, thank you for the response. Here is my hardware:

Ibm Server X3200 with an Intel Core Duo, 2GB Ram and 2 Sata Disks Controlled by Ibm Raid Controller.

The virtual machine was in origin a phisic machine, which we converted in virtual using the latest Vmware converter. Yes I'm using ESXi 4 server

The problem we have is that every month, we find the virtual machine powered off and the error is the one posted Above. But I copy it again here:

    Message from esxserver.vetriceramici.lan:

    VMware ESX unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0)

contents of the log file and core file. To collect

data to submit to VMware support, run

"vm-support". We will respond on the basis of

    your support entitlement.

I Still can't give you the vmx file. Next week I will go there and I will make a copy.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Matteo,

If you could answer one or two questions, I might be able to help you:

    1. does the error occure only when you power off the VM or does it 'just crash'?

    2. do you run any OpenGL applications on that VM?

    3. what kind of OS is it (32bit / 64bit) and how much RAM did you assign to it?

    4. what is the version of the VMware SVGA II driver?

    Cheers

    Valentin
