  • 1.  Unattended ESXi Installation & Nutanix Cluster

    Hi All,

I'm not 100% sure that my question is relevant to this specific community so if it's not I will be more than happy if you can point me to where I should ask the question.

My question is the following - I would like to automate an ESXi installation (currently looking into version 5.5) from a bare metal server to a stage that I have an hypervisor up and running and configured with the network details.

Currently I'm looking into automating the installation of an ESXi on a "simple" server with no special architecture.

The main option that I read about so far is to do it using a PXE server, I was wondering - is that the only option I have ?

In addition I lately read about a company called "Nutanix" that seems like they are installing the ESXi from bare metal somehow (http://myvirtualcloud.net/?p=6389) - is there anyone who knows how they do it ?

Any recommendation / help will be much appreciated !

    Thank you,

    Oriel
