  • 1.  Trouble Ticket System, can someone please make this?

    Hi! I hope I'm posting this in the correct place...

    I do not know a whole lot about programming and my knowledge of Linux is basic.

    What I am looking for is someone to create a trouble ticket Virtual Appliance using SimpleTicket:

    http://www.simpleticket.net/

    It would probably be easy for someone, I just dont know how to compile the stuff and completely configure the MySQL junk.

    I've seen the OTRS appliance but it wont work for what I need. Plus I like the interface for SimpleTicket better :smileyhappy:

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    WOW! 3 weeks and no responses. That's really disappointing. I thought these forums were moderated and watched closely. Guess not

    Appliances are usually created by members, not by VMWare. Let's just say, no one's been "inspired" to create this VM. Or perhaps it's not as easy as you think. I don't know. Maybe you'll have to teach yourself MySQL.

    Wanting free stuff is one thing. Wanting something specific[/i] for free is another. :smileywink:

    Yes, as I said in my post above "I've seen the OTRS appliance but it wont work for what I need"

    The interface leaves much to be desired plus its ease of use isnt that great for standard users that would be submitting tickets.

    sending an email to submit a ticket isn't ease of use ???

    Assuming you come back and post again, please remember, that you're asking someone create something for free. This means someone has to be willing to do the work for free. From what I've read on these forums, everyone is working the computing field and are here in the forums because they're interested in the technology, but it's mostly related to their work. I don't think very many people are here "just for fun."

    So member Oreeh is asking for more info as to why the other product doesn't meet your needs. You say you "must have a GUI." Well, we're sorry, the only currently available "free" product doesn't have a GUI. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." So this may mean that you'd have to hire someone to create the appliance for you. You do realize that many companies make "trouble ticket systems" and charge an arm and a leg and your first born child for it. So to even have one for free is amazing, in my opinion.
