  • 1.  Trouble installing Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04

    Hello,

I'm having trouble installing either version of Ubuntu LTS. I get the same generic error- sorry there was a problem completing the installation.

ESXi 6.7u2 and I recently upgraded one hypervisor to u3 and get the same. I have tried downloading new installer isos, using the latest subiquity and the one with the installer. Tried various virtual controller options for the disk and keep getting the same error. I've tried installing through VCS and on a standalone server. It lets me progress through the config, sees the disk and lets me partition it, starts downloading packages, then gives that generic error when the install begins.

    Any ideas?

edit: it was a repo error. Hash mismatch, fixed by switching to a different mirror instead of the Ubuntu default one. Unbelievable.
