  • 1.  The ESXi host does not have persistent storage

    Today I got the balde system with ESXi5.0 inside. I configure the ip address and dns. I log on to the system with client. However, the system gives the alert that "The ESXi host does not have persistent storage". I try to create a datastore for it. however, it is not available. Suddently, the client is disconnected.

    what shall i do

    This looks like your host came with some Dell specific partitions on the disk which ESXi is not able to delete/overwrite. If you don't need these partitions you may clean up the disk, deleting all partition using e.g. partedUtil or a third party tool like gparted.
