  • 1.  Teaming for onboard NICs with different chipsets

Does ESXi 5 support teaming on different chipset NICs on the motherboard?  I'm running whitebox ESXi 5 in order for the host to recognized the 2nd onboard nic.

When teaming is setup, the 2nd NIC shows "Standby" status.

Yes, it works.  Under properties on the Networking section, click on the vSwitch, and then EDIT for the vSwitch, and then NIC Teaming tab, and there you can click on and move the standby adapters UP to acitve.

The NICs are using both Intel 82579LM and Intel 82574L chipsets.  I'll check it out if I can move the standby NIC up.  Thanks for the info.
