Hi everyone, happy to hear from you again. I recently read that Synology released the DSM 7.2 version of its operating system, with the ability to create disk pools and related immutable shared folders. So do you believe it is possible to use Synology as a repository for Veeam, Nakivo or other virtual machine backup software?

Thanks so much and have a good day.

Oh, I see you asked this a while back, but I thought it'd still be useful to share some news I came across. NAKIVO has released a version that supports using immutability for repositories on Synology NASes that can handle the required commands. This could really enhance the security of your backups if you're considering using Synology as a repository for your VM backup software.

I use Synology for my local copy of Veeam backups and it works great!  They have plenty of options from consumer based to high end enterprise ready all flash systems.
