  • 1.  Support for Dell Poweredge R210 II

    I have a Dell Poweredge R210 II.  I downloaded the installbler ESX1 4.1 u1 from Dell's website.  The Poweredge R210 II is listed there as compatible.  I installed on a memory stick as sugested here. 

    However, when I go into the vshpere client, I am unable to create a datastore.  The LUNs are visible, but I get an error message on creation.  Does anyone have familiarity with this model system or error?

    Additional info.

    The SATA controller is the S100, I do not have this configured in RAID.  There are two 1 TB drives in the system configured as individual drives.  I am fine with using a script to copy an image over each night.  However, I cannot get VMWare to allow me to use either as a storage device.

    Which size of this LUN ?

    Each physical disk is 931 Gigabytes.

    OK. You need create two Luns with 931GB each ?!

    Both Luns are empty ?

    If yes, you can try format this Lun manually http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1009829
