I can't find much info on weather or not this board or more importantly, if the Intel c602 chipset is supported on ESXi 5. Anyone have any info on the newer Supermicro X9 boards using the C602 or C606 chipset?
I found this in the ESXi 5 U1 release notes, New or upgraded device drivers – ESXi 5.0 Update 1 adds support for Native Storage Drivers for Intel C600 series chipset and upgrades LSI MegaRAID SAS driver to version 5.34.
Here is the other hardware I plan on using.
2 E5 2630 Xeon's, 8*8=64GB ram, an Areca 1882ix-16, 12 - 300gb SAS drives and an additional intel i350 nic.
