    Hello,

I'm trying to get some confidence that the Supermicro X10DRH-CT motherboard is going to work with ESXi 5.5 before I take the plunge and buy it.

This board is based on the Intel C612 chipset and has the Intel X540 10Gbit network controller and LSI3108 SAS/SATA controller.

The board does not appear in the VM HCL, but it is listed on the Supermicro website as having undergone some testing with ESXi 5.5, but the specific details of exactly what is and isn't supported is missing - leaving me none the wiser!

    So my questions are:

    1) Does anyone have any experience & wisdom of the above chipsets working with ESXi 5.5?

    2) Does anyone have experience of DirectPath I/O / VT-d to PCI-express devices on this chipset (I wish to use a GPU for computational acceleration for a VM)?

    Best regards,

    Ross

I had the X10SRL-F based on the C612. ESXi 5.5 does not see the SATA controller for passthrough. That's the only real issue that I had.
