    Our company recently bought these:

License key(s) for Academic VMware vSphere 5 Enterprise Plus for 1 processor (with 96 GB vRAM entitlement per processor) : 6 CPU(s)

License key(s) for Academic VMware vCenter Server 5 Foundation for vSphere up to 3 hosts (Per Instance) : 1 INSTANCE(s)

    I downloaded this:

              VMware-viclient-all-5.0.0-455964.exe

              VMware-VIMSetup-all-5.0.0-456005.iso

I have 3 SUSE Enterprise licences we got to use with VMware, I checked the eligibility for our vSphere license and it said we had license for 1 SLES for VMware.

    My questions are:

Is VMware vCenter Server 5 Foundation a separate download?(The splash screen on the VMSetup ISO has a VSphere header, yet on the install inks there is vCenter Server.

Should I call support? I tried using the vSphere License to activate the SLES product and got an error.

Also, could someone experienced point me to a place were I can start injecting my brain with vmware knowledge :smileyhappy:.

Thank you very much for your time.

This is the VIMsetup.exe file you downloaded.  You install it on a windows server (or VM).

You'd need to use the SLES license for SLES, not vsphere.

Buy a couple good books.  Mastering vSphere 5 by Scott Lowe (my colleague) is excellent.
