I have been tasked with learning about VMware virtualization solutions enough so that I am able to use the API to backup VMs, use Changed Block Tracking analysis and be able to clone virtual machines that use CBT. Currently I have only conceptual understanding of virtulization, and have never used any VMware products. As the vSphere documentation is huge I would like to know where could I begin to learn about VMware solutions enough to be able to install VMware software, run virtual machines and interact with them using the SDKs -- I have to start from the basics. What resources should I start with?
