    Hello,

I recently realized the combination of  "SRM+Stretched Storage ".

Is this a widely used combination? Is there any real use case I can study?

    Many thanks

It's not something you commonly see in tandem but usually one or the other. It's worth pointing out that they aren't the same thing and have different objectives. Some resources worth reading: Duncan's article from 2013 and this thread with some solid links for further reading.

If you read the slides of VM World 2017, you will find SRM can now be used with a Stretched Storage cluster, so user will have both a DR solution and vmotion across DC.

I am encountering it more often, it kind of depends on the use case you have. But the orchestrated restart and orchestration SRM offers in combination with the extremely fast failover of a stretched storage solution is a great solution. Now a stretched cluster is even faster when it comes to restarts, as it leverages vSphere HA. It doesn't have the level of orchestration that SRM provides, but it does provide some level of orchestration now that HA has "restart ordering" and "restart dependency" through DRS Rules.
