    Hello Folks,

We have two Sites, Protected and Recovery, our production VMs continuously syncing on, the question here I have turned off the protection site vCenter and try to run a test recovery plan, unfortunately, I couldn't find the options "Protection Groups" and "Recovery Plans".

I have turned on that recovery.forcerevory check box in the advances settings too, Any thoughts?

    TIA

    Hi

Are you using just vSphere replication or vSphere replication with Site Recovery Manager ? Test recovery, protection groups, recovery plans are only available when SRM is installed

If you have site recovery manager installed, you do not have to shutdown protected site vCenter to run test.

    Testing a Recovery Plan

Differences Between Testing and Running a Recovery Plan

    Hope that helps

Hi @ashilkrishnan, we are using both SRM and vSphere Replication Appliances. For true DR scenario, let's say Protected site has some issues or something like that, we need to perform a complete fail-over of env-t to DR site. In that case for testing purpose I have turned off the vCenter and other Appliances on PR site and try to run the recovery plan from protected site. I find, Test, Run options are grayed out. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!.

If the protected site powered off, then you can connect to SRM UI at recovery site and perform recovery tasks
