Hi guys, I have some question regarding SRM. We have SRM 8.1 and vSphere Replication Appliance 8.1. We are having some test and works pretty well both site but I would like to know if we can configure Automatic Failover. The idea is if a VM goes down on the Protect Site the recovery site can take over without intervention.

    Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this blog post: Automating Failover with SRM

I wouldn't recommend this. The risk of a false positive causing downtime seems too great.

I agree with you but is there a way to do it?.

    Thanks for replying.

It works, but its up to you to design the best way to monitor the service you are protecting. There are no safeguards in place doing it this way, if the script used to automate the failover gets trigged it will proceed and you can't really cancel it once its started. I added a 15 minute delay and an email sent, just to make sure its necessary.
