  • 1.  Simply move ESXI host from 1gb nic to 10gb Nic

    Hello,

Maybe my search query is off, but I can't find much on this. SImply put, I have a 7.0 u3 host. It was setup with a static IP on a intergrated nic. I have since added a dual 10gbe nic to the host. The host sees it, shows it capable of 10gbe, and is using a ixgben driver. I simply want to assign the static to the downed nic, and move the network cable from this nic to the new one and have it come back online. Its a dev enviroment, so no need for redundancy at this point. I tried to edit the NIC and all I can change is spped or auto negotiate. Thanks in advance!

The NIC is just being used as an uplink for a virtual switch inside ESXi, the NIC doesn't have any IP address associated with it.

You need to modify the configuration of vSwitch0.
