VMware vSphere

hello. I have a question about procedure to shutting down all my vshpere environment and storage

I have cluster HA and two ESXi . and 7 VM

I log in to VCSA and :

1. I want to shut down 7VM /DC1 DC2 and some linux and windows/

2. Can I then shut down VCSA ? /I'm log in now in it/ /not disconnect me ?/

3. Then I want to shut down both ESXi  /Must i enter maitance mode ?/

4. And know i shut down storage PowerVault ME4.

and then power on prcedure

2. Could I log in to VCSA ? /IT IS stopped/ How i start it if I can't?

Hi  ,

Shutdown and power on sequence looks good. VMs --> Hosts and the storage in the end.

Make a note of the ESXi host and the datastore where the vCenter VM resides, so you can connect directly to the host UI later to power it back on.

Shutdown order is fine.
As of the power on order:

1. Storage 
Wait for the storage to fully start. 

2. Hosts

3. VMs


Some notes on this:

1. Check that you have console access to the hosts before rebooting.
2. Make sure you have the proper credentials
3. Take note of the VM the vCenter resides on before powering off. Running an RVtools dump before the power off it's not a bad idea.
4. If you don't have it: ESXi hosts have a power on order for the VMs when you power on the host. 
Maybe that's worth a shot.

if I have cluster 2HOSTS and there is 3x VCLS and VCSA and rest normal VMs

I need shut down all 2 host. then:

1. Shut down all normal VMs /windows, linux/

2. Shut down 3x VM - VCLS /something new to me what it is/

3. Enter maintance mode first host. (where VSCA in not present) and shut it down /power off/

4. Shut down VCSA /and Log in directly to 2 host and make  maintance mode and shut it down

5. When all two hosts are power off -  shut down my Storage where VMs are

Can you verify it ?

powering of vCLS VMs will just trigger them to be powered on, you need to enable "retreat mode" via an advanced setting. You will have to disable retreat mode when you power the environment on again. Other than that, it looks good to me. 

Another thought setting up vcsa to start automatically on a server so it is available first.
