    Dear All,

I am trying to install san surfer on ESXi5, but I am getting the below error:

    /vmfs/volumes/513c459c-2ea6d032-5fb0-ac162d74d370 # ./standalone_sansurfer5.0.1b75_linux_install.bin
    Preparing to install...
Extracting the JRE from the installer archive...
    Unpacking the JRE...
gzip: /tmp/install.dir.17052/Linux/resource/vm.tar.Z: unknown suffix - ignored
./standalone_sansurfer5.0.1b75_linux_install.bin: line 662: uncompress: not found
gzip: /tmp/install.dir.17052/Linux/resource/vm.tar.Z: unknown suffix - ignored
The included VM could not be uncompressed (GZIP/UNCOMPRESS). Please try to
download the installer again and make sure that you download using 'binary'
mode.  Please do not attempt to install this currently downloaded copy.

    can anyone help?

    thanks

    regards

    Yousif

This could indicate that you do not have enough free space in /tmp.

Looking on the qlogic website, I see supported versions of San Surfer for Novell SLES and RedHat Linux.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't know how you expect this to install, it's clearly not a VMware package, which would end in .zip or .vib. Certainly something that appears to install JRE would never be intended to run on ESXi.
