    Hi,

In Virtual Center (v.2.0.2), I have a user in a Role (Administrators). This user is no longer in this job. How do I remove that one person's user account from that Role, without having to delete the entire Role?

    Thks,

    Marty

You can only remove the permission on the object where it is set.

In VC go to the inventory and select the item where the permission for the user is set (e.g. Hosts & Clusters). There go to the permissions tab and delete the user.

By the way in my opinion it is better to grant permission by using windows groups (local or domain groups). There you can easily manage the membership for the different roles.

Navigate to where the you created the permission through VC and delete the user. If the user still exists but want to give him less rights, then right click the user and Properties and select the new role you would like him to have i.e. Virtual Machine Administrator.

The role or permission will have to be changed at the level which it is defined. If you try to change this permission at a lower inherited level you will recieve the message- Permission for user/group is inherited. Modifying it for this object will create a new permission, not change the original permission. Once the permssion has been changed to No Access it can be deleted by right click--delete
