    Dear All,

today i bought a new Computer for next LAB ESXI for test purpose, this ESXI is HP Pavilion p6-2450ed desktop-pc with  Realtek-networkcontroller 1GB NIC,

i tried to install ESXI on it but it comes back with no Network been detected,

is this NIC compatible with ESXI? is there OEM drivers for this NIC?

    thank you

I think its 8168 model, please check the driver mentioned in the below link

    vm-help.com - View topic - RealTek NIC driver 8168/8111 - for testing.

Customizing your ESXi install with oem.tgz

Rather than to try and find a driver which may currently work, I'd go for a supported or at least known as working NIC. Even if you can find a driver, the system could break with each update/patch you apply.

On the other hand, if this is a test/lab system, do you really need to install ESXi natively or would a installing ESXi as a virtual machine on e.g. VMware Workstation be an option. Running a virtual environment would also allow you to build multiple ESXi VMs and run a complete vSphere environment on a single host.

    Dear Anre,

i do really need to install ESXI nativaly, the test lab has 6 GB memory and I3 CPU, installing ESXI on a virtual machine is no option for me,

No problem, I just wanted to mention this option.

Anyway, if I were you, I'd get a working NIC like one mentioned in the links posted by . You can get such NICs for a few $$ and can avoid trouble.
