  • 1.  Question about login banner

    Hello ---

    I have been trying to place a SSH banner page between the login and password screen since upgrading from ESX 4 to ESXi 5.  Was wondering if anyone has any insite.   Thought I was be able to change sshd.conf file but not able to restart the service

    thanks in advice... with any luck I will be able to answer my own question, but things have been busy.  If needed I can place the banner in MOTD.

    Have you try modify your /etc/issue file?

    Good news the /etc/issue did work, I had changed the path for banner to  another location in the sshd_config file and could not restart SSHD,  changing the banner back to etc/issue worked.

    I found that article and started the process mentioned in the link but the binary was not found in  /sbin/dropbearmulti  I might be missing something...
