Not sure if this is the correct location for this, but I will give it a go.  I have been trying to read up on published apps, and haven't quite found what I am looking for.

I downloaded a virtual appliance through esx, and it works great.  My question is, how do I publish this app for others to use?  The app itself is just a demo of old dos games, but the only way that it seems to work is through the esx console.  How would I get others users to be able to use this?

My answer is only relevent if you are using vCloud Director. Within vCloud Director, you can upload the appliance (as an OVF file) into a catalog. You may need to make sure that this catalog is shared with other organizations depending on who you are sharing with and how your org structure is defined. Once the vApp/VM is in the catalog, anyone with access to that catalog can now create a new copy of the vApp/VM.

As far as accessing the console, vCloud Director tunnels the KVM console from the ESX(i) host through an HTTPS connection. If you click on the thumbnail of your VM, this will prompt you to install a client which will render the console access.

If you do not have vCloud Director, then the process is entirely different and should be asked in the vSphere forums at this site.

I'm basically trying to see if there is a solution that will allow for published apps with vm, comparable to with citrix presentation server.
