Community I hope you are doing well! I am contacting you to help me with the prerequisites for PTP on a client via vmkernel (non-pci).

    Prerequisites:
-The network card must be compatible with PTP. (Supporting IEEE 1588 PTP)
-It is necessary for good practices to opt for a vmkernel and dedicated vLAN for PTP traffic.
-The ESXi must be in version 7.02 or later.
-Disable NTP service on the host.

Now my question is, do I have to request something else from the client? Regarding the "Grandmaster", should it be configured somewhere as a service? or just the switch supporting PTP is enough to receive PTP traffic on the vmk.

    Thank you very much community.
