Pushed out patches using VUM and received the lovely screen below. Any thoughts?
Cisco Blade B250, standard esxi install, and pushed the recommended patches using VUM after the ESXi install.
hostd is throwing general protection faults? That is... uh... odd?
If I'm not mistaken that is hostd requesting memory that the hypervisor (err, or busybox?) says it doesn't have access to.
That is generally broken software, I don't know how no on else is having this issue, corrupt update? Reinstall and reupdate.

Yup, the patch was bad somehow.
Rebuilt the host, and applied patch esx50p01:esx-base it it Purple Screened again with the same error. Rebuilt and going through the rest of the 9 recommended patches to see if any others cause issue.
Not sure why that patch would crash the host.
Found another that PSOD'd me.....
Please open a support case with VMware support. They will instruct you to run vm-support to collect the support logs and the core dump and upload to VMware. Based on that we will be able to figure out what is wrong here.
Can you share the location from where you have downloaded this patch??
Which is the esxi build you have used?
The current esxi patches are available from http://www.vmware.com/patchmgr/findPatch.portal. Can you check if you are downloading the same ones?
A case has been opened with VMware and waiting for a response.
ESXi 5.0.0 469512 Patches were downloaded and applied using VUM. 4 Patches crashed the host. We tested each of the 9 one at a time. The patches highlighted in yellow crashed the host and required a rebuild.
In your Download Settings page of VUM what download sources do you have listed? The list of patches you have is odd. Notice that all of the "release dates" are well in the future? I just happened to be installing a new VUM today and have no vSphere 5 related patches downloaded except for a single 1000v patch.
