    Anyone use PowerRecon?

Can any one rate PowerRecon Scenario Modeling for gauging how many Hosts you would need for x monitored physical server.

I am not agreeing with allot of the results at first hand, I would appreciate any feedback/input from anyone.

    Thanks.

You answered your own question? Do you need info?

I have lots of experience with it, so if you still want info, let me know.

I saw a similar post to yours a few days ago and it sounded like you need to take care with how the scenarios are set up to get the best results which is something PlateSpin offers in their training classes -- the suggested post was to contact their support people and see what KB articles they have -- also note they posted their own forums a few weeks ago so you might want to try their although it is still new in terms of number of participants

I would love any info you have....

I'm trying to get a rough estimate of host servers needed. Thanks

My first bit of advice would be to stay away form the new version (3.0) until they fix the bugs. On paper it's fantasic, but we have recently moved back to the previous 2.x versions for stability.

If you already have data, spend some time creating server templates that are realistic. Becarful on HT loading, and network/disk thresholds.

They start playing and see if the modelling "looks right" to you. Once you have confidence with your server templates you can model away!
