HI all
I am currently running the following VSXI version on my server.
7.0 Update 3
i currrently have OpenWRT 22.03.2 installed as a VM.
When i try and power up the VM i get the following message.
Failed to power on virtual machine OpenWRT 22.03.2. Object type requires hosted I/O Click here for more details.
I looked into the following solutions
VM will not power-on and throws the following error:
Object type requires hosted I/O
> SSH into the ESX-host that’s hosting the VM.
I can do this now problem
> Browse to the VM-folder containing the disk files.
I cannot get past the following
vSphere Security documentation for more information.
[root@coolermaster:~] cd
[root@coolermaster:~] ls
altbootbank etc locker store vmfs
bin include opt tardisks vmimages
bootbank lib proc tardisks.noauto
bootpart.gz lib64 productLocker tmp
bootpart4kn.gz local.tgz sbin usr
dev local.tgz.ve scratch var
[root@coolermaster:~] cd vmfs/
[root@coolermaster:/vmfs] ls
devices volumes
[root@coolermaster:/vmfs] volumes/
-sh: volumes/: Permission denied ---------------> this i cannot figure out?
Run the following command:
vmkfstools -x check “disk.vmdk”
Disk needs repaired
vmkfstools -x repair “disk.vmdk”
Disk was successfully repaired.
Start VM from vCenter
I have checked the permissions in the VM and the only user is root that has full Admin rights.

Any help would be much appreciated
