  • 1.  Performance issues with ESXi 5.0 (IBM Domino Server)

    We are evaluating VMware ESXi 5.0 Free version for our Mail &  Mobility enviroment of Reliance Group. Reliance Group is using IBM Lotus  domino, Lotus Notes,BES & Traveler for Mail & Mobility.

    Our Evalution invovles the running some of production servers on VMware virtual machine which are running IBM Lotus Domino Enterprise  server having aroung 1500 live users.

    In the first face of the evaluation, we have faced major performce  issue running IBM Lotus Domino server on ESXi 5.0. We had raised the  case with IBM and IBM has replied that its due to Virtual machine.

    We would need fine tuning parameter from VMWare for IBM Lotus Domino server.

    would be happy to assist - but the requirement looks vague - capturing esxtop stats , VC graphs , messages logs during the run would give you much more insights  - otherwise it would be difficult for anyone to judge what could have gone wrong

    This is a old document but most of the settings should remain valid for vSphere 5 also.
