    Hi,

I've looked at the VMware vCenter Converter to convert a Physical Machine to a Virtual Machine. Is there a product method available that I can use to boot into a CD to convert P2V that way.

    Rgds

    Hello,

vConverter had a live CD you could use to cold convert.

This has been discontinued. You could always try and get your hands on a copy of an older version. ç

You could try DIY with these instructions:

Would you know where to find this. Was it a Paid for product?

It was included with VI 3.x Enterprise. You could not download it without a license being registered to your account.

if you have a support agreement, you can download the enterprise version, which has the coldclone.iso

    >VMware vCenter Converter BootCD

    >A Zip file that includes the VMware vCenter Converter BootCD (for performing cold clone conversions of physical machines to virtual machines) and the peTool utility.

You can find the link where you would download vCenter4.0.0U2

if you want a good coldclone CD - you must do it yourself.

Takes maybe an hour and when done you probably never want to use the one from VMware again :smileywink:
