Is it possible to virtualize an IBM AIX 5.x physical server?

    If so, how?

No, AIX does not run on i386 hardware and VMware only virtualises i386 sorry

    Thanks....

I am not a unix expert (or novice or anything for that matter) but by chance would you know what I could use to clone or virtualize an AIX server?

    I realize its Off-Topic, but I thought I'd ask.

AFAIK the only thing that can run a virtualised AIX is AIX itself. I am making an assumption here but there may be some builtin tools in the 6 Beta that will work. it is now Open Beta

I have found that alot or some of the AIX programs I have seen used have been ported over to linux and I have been able to replace some AIX servers. Check and see if your app can run on linux
