Ideas ? - yes.
Converter simply can't handle P2V of Windows 7.
Workaround:
inside the Win7 use sysinternals "disk2vhd"
convert the vdh-file you get then with Starwind V2v Converter to vmdk format
Create a Windows 7 VM and attach that converted vmdk.
First boot use a Windows 7 Recovery CD and adjust one single key in registry.
The procedure is a bit time-consuming as you need to convert one more time then usual but it is quite straightforward and not to tricky.

I wrote that for 2008 R2 but it applies to Windows 7 as well.
Plan B: - buy the LiveCD from Paragon - it is about 40 bugs and it can do it as well - it is called Paragon Virtualisation Manager.
