First you have to take the 2 days "What's new course".

Then you can take the VCP410 exam to a VUE center.

Good info in there about how accurate the mock exam is and some general tips for studying.

    Good luck!

I used the testking.com resources to prep for my VCP410 exam (I already had the course requirements taken care of)... I read over their material (took two days there), noting some errors (nothing major) which were later corrected, and then started going through the practice and virtual exams. Using the virtual exams showed me where I needed to concentrate (more) on in my preparation. I did this for about a week before I took the exam. Passed it in under an hour, getting a score over 400 on it.

I would/will use testking again for my next set of certifications (going after some Microsoft ones next).

When did the instructor recommend against using testking? Is/was he an actual VMware employee or a third party instructor?

I didn't just use them at random, it was at the recommendation of a few senior people at VMware partner companies, as well as the VMware territory manager (sales, but highly technical too). I read through the guide they have, and then went through the different exam types you get when you make the purchase. I didn't bother with the audio/video thing, since I get more from reading (unless in an actual class environment).

Considering how I usually don't do well on actual exams (never have, doesn't mean I don't know the information, just don't test well) scoring over 400 is pretty good (actual score was 413). I know another person that didn't use testking for his VCP310 exam and had to take it twice. He took the VCP410 exam and scored just slightly better than me (in the 430's). He had the advantage of managing a good size environment for about two years before going for the exam. If I had the same experience, I probably would have done better too.

Actually a 3rd party instructor told me that and some other people in this forum did not recommend this too much to me (but never like : please do not do that!).

I gave my VCP 310 without testking but only studying so i was happy as well.

Fortunately i'm working with vSphere on daily basis and i can do some exercise.

    But do u suggest Q & A ?

I would go with the VCP-410-Q&A with Explanations since it comes with the testing engine (545 questions)... Go through a practice exam, and then take the virtual exam and see how you do. I would at least run through several of the virtual exams (mimic the actual exam you'll be taking, but with only 50 questions). With working with the product daily, you should have a good foundation. Use the exams to see where you need to brush up and then go from there.

It really does not matter whether the instructor was a VMware employee or not - having been a contract instructor delivering VMware courses I am not a fan of Testking as well - not only when someone has shown me testking material have I found information that is incorrect TK also has a history of stealing test questions from actual exams and have been successfully sued over that practice - Andre has pointed you to some greeat resources I would use those as prep -
