    Dear Colleagues,

    I hope you are fine.

We are reviewing the documentation to embed Terraform configurations as a resource in cloud templates in Automation Assembler https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/aria/aria-automation/8-18/assembler-on-prem-using-and-managing-master-map-8-18/maphead-designing-your-deployments/terraform-integration-general.html

Among the limitations for Terraform configurations listed here:

    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/aria/aria-automation/8-18/assembler-on-prem-using-and-managing-master-map-8-18/maphead-designing-your-deployments/terraform-integration-general/terraform-learn-more.html, we see:

"VMware Aria Automation Terraform configurations may provision to public clouds. Provisioning to on-premises infrastructure isn't supported."

Could you please confirm if provisioning to on-premises infrastructure is not supported?

Does this mean that provisioning to vCenter is not supported?

I would like to understand if that is feasible.

Thank you very much for your support.

    Best regards

    Antonio

Ive not tried it, but I can't see any reason why you would not be able to provision to vcenter using terraform. It just runs terraform. But it raises the question why would you want to? You have vsphere specific tempalates that give you all the functionality to deploy to vcenter. I guess it may help you with config that you would typically have to write a workflow for such as moving to a specific VM folder or creating a DRS rule but that's easy enough using orchestrator post VM creation.
