  • 1.  NVME TCP/IP vs iSCSI

    I am just wondering about NVME TCP technology vs iSCSI. I have set it up in lab environment and while there are no that much difference when i perform storage vMotion iSCSI is much faster

    I have 2 hosts added as iSCSI and two hosts in different cluster that are added to storage as NVME TCP.  Storage vMotion is much faster with iSCSI storage is Dell PowerStore 1200 T

     

    That comes as a surprise as NVME is supposed to be faster

    I would check esxtop, not sure why, but it could be that with iSCSI the "vaai primitives" are used and with NVMe over TCP they are not. Look at the xcopy. ~Some hints of how to check it here:
